Photo Upload on Forums

Hello, I am new to the forums and there seems to be an issue. I try to upload a screenshot to the forum, but nothing seems to work. The problem works like this: I upload my screenshot onto imgur or wherever, copy the link and paste it into the 'insert image from URL' box. When I press 'insert' the box goes red and shakes. What am I doing wrong? I have also tried other methods, like pasting the link directly into the post, but no image appears. I have even tried pasting an image from the internet directly as a test, but nothing happened. I have looked and looked, but can't seem to find anyone in the same predicament. Could someone please help?

Welcome to the forum @space_otter! 

The forum itself does not host images besides our avatars so we use services like imgur and google drive to post to and then link here. If you use a direct link (one that ends if the image file descriptor like .png) it should auto embed into your post and should be visible in the post preview.
