Fairings suddenly speed towards kerbin after being jettisoned

KSP Version: v0.1.1.0 (Updated on 3/16/203)
Operating System: Windows 11
CPU and GPU: 5800X3D and 7900XTX
Description of the bug: When I get into orbit and eject my fairings and activate next stage (an engine) my fairings shoot towards Kerbin.
Expected Behavior: Fairing pieces and coupler float freely and should only be affected by propulsion.
Observed Behavior: Fairing pieces and coupler rocket towards Kerbin.
Steps to Replicate: Seems to do it every time for me.
Fixes / Workarounds: None I know of.
A list of ALL mods: No mods.

Replicated in v0.1.1.0, however, was not quick enough to get a screenshot.  Report as follows:

  • KSP Version - 0.1.1.0
  • Operating System and version  - Windows 11
  • CPU and GPU models - Intel core i5 12600KF / NVIDIA GeFroce RTX 3080
  • Description of the bug.  
    • Expected Behaviour - fairings decouple and drift apart
    • Observed Behaviour - fairings eject forward through payload, then rapidly descend straight down to Kerbin
  • Steps to Replicate - Rockket with fairing, eject fairing.
  • Fixes / Workarounds (if known..) unknown
  • A list of ALL mods - None
  • Other Notes: None

Reported Version: v0.1.3 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes 
OS: windows | CPU: ryzen 7 | GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660 | RAMidk

 

A few seconds after deploying fairings, their physics and trajectory suddenly changes and the fairing shell shoots downwards towards kerbin.

Also, fairings seem to deploy incorrectly, as instead of splitting open, the fairing goes forward in one piece, as if it's being slid off the rocket.

To add to this: Fairings also always go mostly forward for me and don't really split.

Not a new bug for me. Has always been there and it is kind of like a running gag for me now every time I jettison a fairing.

This Bug has been around since the first patch.  Before the first patch the fairings used to get stuck on parts of the craft.  I'm assuming the fix for getting stuck was to just shoot them at high velocity off the craft..  LOL
