The Grand Tour (Lightweight Challenge)

There is a big, big problem. I have not been to all celestial bodies in the Kerbol system. In fact, I have not even made it past Duna.

I attribute this to a lack of time and patience rather than lack of skill. Since most bodies in the KSP1 system can be landed on a single craft, I shall challenge myself to the following challenge:

- Land on every celestial body in one mission, with the same Kerbal, hopefully planting a flag each time.

- Do so in under 100 tons launch mass

- Need not be reusable.

- sandbox

- Do so in under 200 part’s preferably. I do not own a powerful pc.

The plan

Small Body Lander + Laythe Lander

1x Mk1 LF fuselage

1x Nerv Motor

1x Mk1 command pod

1x Mk16 parachute and 2x radial mount chute (to hopefully slow the duna and Kerbin landing even more)

4x LT1 landing strut

The command module will eventually detach off from the rest (contains a heat shield) to re-enter into Kerbin.

An MK1 fuselage and Cr7 rapier engine is also added to the back with yet another set of landing struts and some air intakes. This is for Laythe.

Tylo lander:

1x 400 tank+terrier

1x 800 tank+dart

The landing struts are on the 400 tank, so the 800 tank must go before landing.

Eve lander:

1x fairing with an Mk1 pod added inside

200 tank and spark

400 tank and terrier

900 tank+dart

2400 tank (2 parts) + vector (eve ascent)

This is really heavy, not sure if it will work even for eve ascent so yeah

Mass allocations

Laythe lander = ~10 tons

Tylo lander = ~10 tons

Eve lander = ~25 tons (need to lighten)

Launch Stage = ~50 tons

Other stages = ~20 tons (mostly xenon gas tugs and transfer stages, as well as extra LF)

All stages come with docking ports 

 

Oh yeah, and i will not take three months to do a grand tour. It will be slow (very slow), but it can be done in a month or so, given how much work and LSR i need to do.
