Expected behaviour: During re-entering the atmosphere, the capsule pod orients itself pointing retrograde. What happens (with the Cockleshell fairing part): During re-entering the atmosphere, the capsule pod does not point retrograde and instead will stay between prograde and retrograde while randomly oscillating between radial-in and radial-out. It looks like the fairing part confuses the "drag cube" of the game for the active vessel: the craft (with the fairing part) seems to be aerodynamic in only a certain position (a contradictory position based on what we see). Check the YouTube video for better representation of the issue. Ringael
Reported Version: v0.2.0 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Win 11 | CPU: Intel Core i7-10870H | GPU: GeForce GTX 1660 Ti | RAM: 31,84 If you use an engine mount as a fairing, it looks like parts inside keep no-drag modifier even if the shroud is detached. So if you hide a capsule inside an upside-down engine mount, you cannot reenter. Take the attached craft, launch it into an orbit with periapsis below 70km (in atmosphere). Drop all stages until only a capsule remains. And you will be orbiting indefinitely. You cannot even deploay a parachute. Craft parts (in order): Nose cone Decoupler (upside-down) ------- (space provided by engine mount fairing end) parachute capsule heatshield decoupler engine mount (upside-down, fairing length 1.75m) fuel tank etc Included Attachments: Testengineshroud.json Edited December 30, 2023 by The Space Peacock

Gurkonier
Had this with an Mk 3 Pod. But i didn't have an engine mount upside down, but an interstage fairing. At reentry the capsule had little to no drag and i crashed into the ground with over 600 m/s Minmus.json
