KSP crash when launching and overheating bug (RSS-RP0, MAC M1)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I play on a mac M1, KSP 1.10 with RSS/RP-0 and a fair amount of mods installed (around 100).

My game keeps crashing when I try to launch a particular craft. I launched other rockets without any problem, but this one just doesn't want to work.

It's nothing fancy, very simple actually: Some procedural avionics, Modular tanks,  etc etc.

When the app crashes i get a SIGABRT call on a different thread everytime it happens, and I don't really know how to troubleshoot that (I'm not THAT good with this stuff).

I also noticed that when simulating the same craft  3 or 4 times in Test Flight Mode,  I get a strange overheating bug: my craft overheats and explodes way outside of the atmosphere's thinnest layers (80-90km)  or in atmosphere but at speeds much lower than needed to overheat something until the point of blowing it up (1700/2300 m/s), and then the craft becomes useless and if I try to roll it out the crash bug happens again. And if I try to use cheat menu to ignore max temp and try for example to start an experiment, the game detects the craft as moving on surface and everything gets max overheating, as If i was going 7000 m/s 30 feet from the ground.

Any ideas about where to start to troubleshoot something like this?

If you need logs can you please tell me where to find 'em? Thanks

RP-0? Is this a really old install?

RP-1 is on v3.1 now and should be installed in KSP 1.12.3 or later (though .4 and .5 have nothing that affects it).

I call it RP-0 but it's the RP-1 version 11 (the one with older contracts structure, without administration building so to speak.
I installed it over 1.10.1 because for 1.12 i only found the newer version with programs etc. and I didn't quite like it

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
