I can of course try manual, but at what position does the craft and Gilly have to be for a transfer burn?

There are a few addons with information about phase angles. When the phase angle is zero, it's time to make your tranfer burn. Beyond that, IDK.

1. Get an orbit identical to Gilly's, but in the opposite direction

You'll get there within one orbit, but it can take a lot of fuel.

2. Do it like a rendezvous

It takes less fuel than reversing your orbit, but is much more complicated.

It really needs to be done as a rendezvous. So you need to do a plane change, and match everything else. Then go higher or lower to meet up. Then try your intercept.

Good luck. It's worth getting too. The exceptionally low gravity is very interesting. Doing an EVA to the surface it quite easy and preffered due to the current bugs.

Landing on Gilly via EVA is scary, due to the lack of instrumentation or overall data, which can make a rendezvous with your original craft difficult. This is not to say it's not doable; however, it is probably more doable than actually landing on Gilly with a ship.

If you do decide to land on gilly with a ship, pick the largest, flattest area you can find, due to such areas being much less dangerous.
