Working VTOL shuttle w/ rotating engines

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, this is my first post here, yay.

So, I bring you my try at designing a working, fast and reliable VTOL aircraft/space shuttle. I've made 2 versions of this, one using the Aerospike rocket, and another using a vanilla jet engine, to save fuel. I've succesfully managed to takeoff and land the craft in all normal VTOL combinations, although I must admit it took me many tries, this plane is anything but stable in very low speeds, and RCS is a must if you don't want to crash it.

I used the following mods/plugins to build it:

- Damned Robotics Version 1.2.1 (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/9675-v0-16-Damned-Robotics-Version-1-2-1)

- RedStar co-op Airplane parts v0.4.1 (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/17081-0-17-RedStar-co-op-Airplane-parts-v0-4-1)

- TyberDyne's Shuttle System Version 3.0! (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/4116-0-17-TiberDyne-Aerospace-R-D-Division-Shuttle-System-Version-3-0%21-Sept-20th)

Here's the video:

Awesome! How do you do that?

Did you side-mount the engines directly to the rotatron?

I tried sticking the radial decoupler from the "Wayland PSX Pack" directly into the center of the rotatron but all it does is wobble like a twizzler when I turn on the engines.

Do you have any advice?
