Lag-induced lockup during landing... will my ship still be there?

I was descending towards KSC2 under parachute and about to throttle up my landing engines, when the game locked up. I was 238 m above the ground. I waited a few minutes before shutting down the game and restarting. Any hope my lander will be there, or do I need to relaunch?

It sounds like it crashed while the ship was moving in atmosphere... which means the game wouldn't have been able to save it. Unless the ship is stopped on the ground or above ~25km, it won't save the ship, since it can't figure out the trajectory (it needs to do physics calculations rather than a nice simple "it's here on the planet" or "this is it's orbit, we have an exact solution" that saved ships use).

Sorry to say it, but you'll have to relaunch.

OK, here's the bizzare part: I went back, and it was sitting on the ground right where it should have been. I trashed a leg and an engine, and it was on it's side, but it was there!

Also, DON'T leave something on the KSC2 pad, then try to launch on the KSC pad. It thinks that it's on the KSC pad and will delete it if you proceed. I lost a rover that way...
