BSMC News thread: Light/Meduim Launchers

Recommended Posts

Hello, and welcome to the Bio Space Manufacturing Co's (BSMC) news thread related to our lighter lifters. Feel free to comment, constructively critique or give advice via reply or PM. Without further ado, here are my light/medium launchers.

The Centaur I is a craft meant for launching light satellites into orbit or manned spacecraft into a suborbital trajectory.

Discoverer-I

attachment.php?attachmentid=34913&d=1350504350

The Centaur IIa craft is currently the most used launcher yet. It is used for launching light probes to orbit around the Mun, Sun, possibly Minmus, or putting manned spacecraft into a LKO. It is also considered the replacement of the retired orbiter Humana-III

Discoverer II

Discoverer III (Failed)

Discoverer IV (Failed with a bit of success)

Athena I Orbiter

Athena II Orbiter

The Centaur IIb is a craft meant for doing one of the following for a mission: a) Putting a one man lander on the Mun, B) Putting a light space station or space station part into LKO or c) putting a light, unmanned probe into orbit around another planet.

None that I can recall

The Centaur IIc is our largest rocket we will cover for now. It has many uses, such as:

*Putting a medium space station or space station part into LKO

*Putting a large orbiter in LKO

*Putting a small Mun base on the Mun

*Putting large probes into orbit around other planets

None that I can recall

The Humana-III was BSMC's very first ever orbital rocket, now outdated. Its unique design of building out, not down, made it extremely stable. Its staging design also allowed it to leave behind no debris whatsoever.

See the post below titled "Craft Files" for .craft files.

That's all for now, folks! Cya when I post a post on this thread about my heavy launchers.

I think so as well.

Still, its a good range of rockets but the success rate might need bumping up before I would get any of them (If I could).

Don't get me wrong, these rockets worked. The reason the discoverer-III and -IV's failed was because they didn't have enough fuel for the probes to complete their mission, but the launches uptop the rockets were successful.

Oh, and to sal, these indeed are stock.

Ok then, maybe you should try for more fuel. :sticktongue:

Don't take it offensively, I like your designs and I do understand that sometimes things go wrong (looks at Falcon 9).

Is there a way you could make these available for download as I could use them, being the rubbish engineer/builder I am.

No offense taken :)

Yes! I will have the craft files up momentarily.
