Over the last few days I've been performing an Apollo-style moon mission.

As you can see in the image above, the payload would separate from the rocket, turn around, reattach to the rocket, and then divide into orbiter and lander modules. Bob (playing Michael Collins) remained in the orbiter module, while Jeb (playing Neil Armstrong) and Bill (playing Edwin Aldrin) transfered to the lander module by EVA, after munar orbit had been achieved.

I'm currently in the process of aerobraking into LKO so that I can perform a targeted landing near the KSC.

Couple of pics from my first stuff in 0.21:

Bill is not amused at entering the atmosphere in ragdoll mode.

Turns out kerbals are pretty aerodynamic. (don't worry, he landed on his head. :))

v5iEMmz.png

Small lifter made with the Part generator. First stage is a custom 80cm tank with adapter, and the second stage is stock. The first stage is 100% reusable! :D (That star on the sky is Minmus, for those of you that didn't know. :))

Beautiful shot of a mun orbiter impactor.

And finally:

I love my new skybox. :D

Docking my two experimental interplanetary craft, the Explorer and Pathfinder. (Named for two "unofficial" space shuttles used by NASA for publicity and testing)

I over engineer EVERYTHING I build in this game. Both craft are a combination of experimental and previous proven methods and designs from before .21, but I'm starting a totally new save. The Explorer used a new drive system, but old setup and crew modules whereas the Pathfinder used an old drive module but totally new design of crew module. These two ships having been complete successes will allow me to launch and build my next gen craft with 21 Kerbals.

An overview of my space station core :

Space station core casting shadows on the refueled that just topped its fuel tanks :

The Skipper engine that is still attached to the station provides 3590 m/s of delta v. More fuel tanks can be easily attached to the station core to further extend its range if needed.

Yeah, I like my space stations mobile, like some kind of, you know... spacecraft? :D

The Israel Space Agency has come on leaps and bounds!

That's the Arro "Popcorn" cheap and disposable lander probe. The bare minimum to keep it flying, controllable, landable, and you can at least pretend it can send telemetry. It's so basic it doesn't even have landing gear; I just "lithobrake" on the engine bell and fuel tank.

Sometimes you just don't need landing gear at all.

Sometimes I, uh, cut the landing a bit fine shall we say. (Dratted mountain, getting in the way like that.)

Show off :P

(Yeah, that's kinda the point of the thread, if not much of the forums, I know, I know. :D)

Once they get everything organised, my space program will use this pic for postcards that say "Wish you were here."

Helps that all Kerbals (currently) look the same.

Sold in the visitors center, ground floor of the astronaut complex, with the KSP logo added discretely in the bottom right corner.

Exploration of the Mun continues.

My space program has been more of an Eve lander testing program lately. Can't get the damn heat shield to fly straight.

BioOWTh.png

Decided to just build a bigger shield. Problem solved.

(I hope they make better aerodynamics before stock reentry heat is in.)
