Weird Delta v problem on my eve lander

Recommended Posts

After an unsuccessful eve ascent on my original lander, I've decided to add more fuel tanks to it.

But when adding more fuel, the delta v in the readouts is decreasing! even though I'm clearly adding more fuel to my craft.

Any answers are welcome

It should be one of the following issues.

1. Fuel flow issue. The crossfeed on one or more decouplers is inactive, or there is another part between the fuel tank and the engine, which blocks fuel flow.

2. Wrong staging. It's possible, that you discard the full tank before you use the fuel, because the decoupler or the consumer engine is in the wrong place in the staging order.

Delta-V on the stage or in total? If you're adding fuel to a stage with a vacuum-optimised engine e.g. Terrier, but have the delta-V display set to Eve's surface, it wouldn't surprise me if your total delta-V went down as the extra tanks would add a lot of mass but give almost no extra delta-V in that setting- vacuum-optimised engines perform very poorly in atmospheres and Eve's atmosphere is particularly thick, I think 5x more than Kerbin at sea level?

If that's not what's happening, screenshots please?

I'm kinda late to answer but the solution was a fuel flow one

I really don't now how to manually edit fuel flow and fuel priority but I think what happened was Me from 2 months ago clicked a wrong button and the fuel flow/priority got messed up.

Thanks for all the suggestion's :)

The fuel priority depends mainly on your staging order. If you want something different, or you have a very complex spacecraft, you can modify it for each tank manually, you have to activate "advanced tweakables" in the options for it.
