Here is my VTOL Shuttles fleet for Mars: On foreground, the biggest one will be launched by a big rocket. It contains a Big Converter Driller fit with a KAS Fuel station to supply all Shuttle with LF. Every Shuttle is equipped with 2 KAS Socket for the supply line.

In the middle,  the Shuttle takes à Mars Base in its center hold. In the back we have a Shuttle with a 8 crew compartment, a Lab and a rover in its belly. Near the building is the Driller Converter

Here is the vertical Rocket with the biggest Shuttle. all other Shuttle will be Stratolaunched

Take off of the first Shuttle that contains a ScanSat Satellite to draw a map Of Mars and find the best Ore Spot to land and establish a Base. The Suttle is automatic, and the Stratolauncher is piloted by 2 kerbals. Take off weight is around 3500T

At 50 kms in suborbital flight, the shuttle is launched and begins its climb on 2 LH2O side rockets. Then it finishes the climb to 170 kms orbit where  we get 14 to 15000 DV left for Mars

Once orbiting Mars, the Shuttle has launched the Satellite and a map was drawn to find the best landing site which is in the Yellow color.  I marked a blue waypoint just under Mars equator line determined by the 2 green waypoints. Then it is easy to intersect the equator plane and the Shuttle plane to set a manoeuver point.

While this Mars Shuttle is orbiting over Mars and datas from the Satellite are send to Earth, another Cargo shuttle is preparing for vertical launch. The Mars cargo shuttle is going to release a big Driller-Converter at the best place to drill ore and convert it in LF and LFO.

This Driller converter Machine is able to move on eight big wheels and to refuel any Mars Shuttle equipped with KAS socket. No need of docking Port, KAS filling station is easier to operate. Launch Mass is 8898T and we will launch at night to reach the orbit in the Mars plan.

After the last stage is ejected, The Shuttle stands on its LH2O booster and starts its engines too

From a 170kms Earth Orbit, the Cargo shutttle injects to Mars and intercepts Mars orbit so as to be on an equatorial orbit around 130 kms

Then begins the retro burning on mains engines. Reaching 3000m the Shuttle shuts down its 4 mains engines and flip to Vertical landing, starting its 2 vertical engines

After Landing, the big Hold is open to free the Driller machine and the shuttle has to lift a little bit and fly forward, because the Driller machine is to big to move under the Shuttle

Then the driller starts drilling and converting, the spot is 9% Ore spot and the engineer seats on the machine to improve drilling.

The engineer plug the KAS station pipe to the Cargo Shuttle socket and we can know transfer LF in the tanks while the machine is drilling and converting. It's quite a quick process!
