Squirrel Slapper
When I add Parallax to a normal install, the Mun and Duna have rocks on them. When I add Parallax to an RSS install, the Moon and Mars do not have rocks on them. Am using the latest version of Parallax (2.0.8 from CKAN) and the latest version of RSS (v20.1.3.0 from CKAN). Both installs have the exact same graphics settings. In both instances I have "scatters enabled = true," also in both instances Parallax DOES change the terrain's texture, just refuses to add rocks in the latter case. So what's the issue? Is there some line of code that specifically instructs Parallax to only add rocks when the celestial body is called "Mun" or "Duna"? Can I just delete or modify that line of code? The current version of RSS doesn't support Parallax scatters and in fact does not even implement any, so unless you can find a third-party RSS Parallax config you're out of luck. I believe RSS support for Parallax Continued is planned, but I don't know if there's anything ready for that either; might be a good question to ask the RSS/RO/RP-1 Discord. arbsoup
Quote Is there some line of code that specifically instructs Parallax to only add rocks when the celestial body is called "Mun" or "Duna"? To elaborate: Parallax scatters and terrain are both only defined for individual bodies. Parallax comes with a set of stock definitions, but planet packs need to include their own configs for both (RSS includes the terrain part, but not the scatters). This is why the appearance of terrain and rocks is different between planets; it's defined separately for each. I'm not sure why RSS disables scatters outright, and I'd probably want to remove that line (heedless of the consequences, haha). They still wouldn't just appear, though; you'd have to write configs to place scatters on the RSS planets.
