Since the forums have been backdated to Oct 2012, does it still technically count as necroposting if we accidentally post on a thread that has been dead for a while but we don't realize it? I'm asking because it is in the rules not to necropost.

Best to avoid necroposting if you can. Although it probably won't earn as strict of a punishment for a few days because of the abundance of old threads, people obviously doing it on purpose will be reprimanded accordingly.

I've been going around closing threads that get bumped by mistake to ensure that they aren't disturbed again, except where the subject could be discussed more.
