Those do look pretty awesome. But there's one thing I want to know.

Do they actually rotate?

Well, they wouldn't be much good if they didn't :)

see what happens to jeb at the very end of the clip lol

haha yeah total accident, has not actually happened before.. and getting that thing to Duna is not fun!!! I built a 5m wide cargo bay with a 2.5 meter top and bottom attachment so it can be transported easily, cargo bay Well, they will be ready along with the other 9 wheels for the 10 wheel pack soon :) it's pretty addictive making car parts for some strange reason lol...

No, this is a stock part I am making literally as I type this.

It's a cargo bay, 2.5 meters at each end that tapers out to 5 metres in diameter, with a flat base and two fold out bay doors that go up, for easy access. Just sort the animation, ill post the part soon, its going int he Rover update pack with the monster wheels.

How about the 2001 vehicles? Those would be awesome

We are starting work on a gravity plugin for stations, and the first and to be honest, only station I'm doing from TV/movies is The Odyssey from 2001. That will be the test model for the gravity, basically when you can walk around the hub inside, I'll be happy and we can apply that to other parts.

It would be interesting if you could make the gravity proportional to how fast it is spinning, but for just the hub piece of course.

Its going to be tricky, ideally it will be spinning yeah. I have already tried it but its way out of wack, and also exploding kerbals is a constant fear.... bouncing off alot of colliders that are intersecting

but we'll get there. I've always said I want magnetic boots, so after a year going to attempt something along those lines, it just wont be boots as such.

Part count is related to the actual meshes also. For example, I make a Cockpit. The cockpit is made up of 100 parts in the model. Now, It's still a cockpit, and its still looks like 1 piece to most people, but usually that is made up of many pieces, many objects and unless you actually join parts of your mesh to cut down in the 'internal' part count, it will still have the same laggy result. So if I made the dropship one piece, and had all the animations in one right click menu,

you would find its actually worse, as all the parts would still be combined into +one model, and loading the single piece dropship would feel very laggy.

Welll Part tools .20 came out so i guess im gonna be really busy this weekend!

Well that's pretty clear. Thanks for setting me straight on that. I thought it was a part count thing, but that makes more sense.

No problemo...

Here.. have a teaser :)

I have been working on these for most of the day, wanted to make them look like engines... but wheels at the same time... I think they turned out ok.

Yes.. engines and wheels.

Meet..

The Hover Wheel!
