They were called photoshop because not only did you not provide any proof of it, you can tell with the link I provided. Prove me wrong, and I will personally have the mods unlock your mod and I will directly apologize for my accusation.

Well there you go, proof, I am glad someone showed me wrong. It was not very believable hence why we reacted the way we did. I do apologize for that sincerely, nothing wrong with being wrong :)

I will request the mod to unlock your thread.

Your right, I do apologize for that, and I have already requested the thread to be unlocked and our posts to be removed from it :) Sorry once again, I applaud you and would like to see further refinement and future spacecraft.

Guys, chill.

It's because he's done this twice already- taking creations from others and claiming he "reverse engineered" them (which is just copy+pasting) and then whining when people eventually figure out they're just him stealing from others.

Morgan, I'm glad that you're actually doing it this time, despite the "shenanigans" of late. Hopefully this is you turning over a new leaf with your "reverse- engineering" endeavors.

As I have stated before, this mesh is not mine, I will credit the mesh maker in the release, the dismantling and reverse engineering it for the game is me, but there is no credit there, a simple monkey can do this. What I will be credited for is the addition of a (hopefully) faster than light module, although there again, a buddy is creating it and says I can call it mine, so actually, the only thing I can get credit for in this model is making the model modular, and working the animations into it. So whatever, I just think that we all could either Fly like an EAGLE, or SOAR with the FALCON. Lol

Reverse engineering has a specific meaning. It is a clean-room implementation of another person's product or system while working from a specification created by observing how that product/system works.

For 3d modeling, the closest I can think to using the term "reverse engineering" for another person's 3d model would be to create a new 3d model from scratch, while looking at the same reference pictures/blueprints that the original model's artist used. I would be allowed to look at the original artist's model to see how they put it together, and possibly even duplicate tricks that said artist used to keep polygon count low or particular tricky ways to handle the UV map, but I could not do a 1-to-1 duplication. Nor could I just use the original mesh data and re-import it into a different system.

That's not reverse engineering, that's just exporting-and-reimporting. That isn't as easy to do as cut-and-pasting, but it's not all more much difficult.
