Launch Pad Challenge: make a stock parts "launch pad" with a rocket attached to it. Launch your launch pad and rocket and land the launch pad on a different continent. Then you must re-launch from your new launch pad and get into a stable orbit. First one to do so wins.

Try to go into as low a CIRCULAR solar orbit as you can. So whoever gets closest to the sun wins. You will need to build some interesting ships

So: How about to launch a spaceplane towards a polar orbit (witch one is not essential; min 70km by 70km altitude fully orbit initial), then alter the course and land at the KSC-runway 09?

Challenge 1: Design a 2 wheeled planed that takes off and land on two wheels. landing can be anywhere and it cannot be vtol or vertical.

Challenge 2: Design a flying Wing {it cannot have any tail or any rudders on the tips of the wings} you must take off and fly to the end of the runway then make a turn around the whole space center and land back on the runway in one piece.

Design a rover that can traverse through water, go over rugged terrain and fly into the sky. Building time not included.

Rules:

1. Maximum part count of 30 parts

2. No air breathing engines

3. No external seats

4. Everything you start with must still be attached when you finish (no staging to ditch excess weight)

5. You must plant a flag on the dirt runway

And a new proposual:

Build a rocket with a one or three man capusule that is lauched on a 90 or 270 degree path. Achive at least a 80 by 80 km altitude for the orbit. So far so easy.

Then perform a descend burn at 80 km or higher altitude and detatch the capsule. Only the capsule and it's parachutes are allowed to enter the atmosphere. Try to to land as close as possible to the KSC-lauchpad.

Rules:

All kinds of parachutes (Normal, drouge, radial) are allowed, there behavior may be altered through action-groups. The woman - or man - who lands savely nearest the KSC-lauchpad wins.

Make a really low orbiting spy satellite to take "photos" of for example KSC. So it obviously needs to be fueled to return safely on orbit to be able remake this operation again (after refueling).

While this sounds fun crafts despawn after a 2.5km gap (as we saw in the last real episode). This means the maximum gap you'd be able to have is 2.5km.
