Cleaning up Debris?

Alright so i searched the forum and google (and since there are archived threads there about that, i cant reach them)

After various Tests for vehicles and rescue missions for the trapped and motionless vehicle testers in reach of the KSC, i deleted their flights. The debris from the crashes stays somehow..And it's causing a lagfest because its about 1km from the runway.

Any suggestion how to clean up debris? is there a function i missed?

Set the 'maximum persistent debris' to 0 in the menu. You will have to load, save, and reload (maybe even quit, I'm not sure) after that though but then all debris should be gone
