Quantum Struts

Recommended Posts

OK, searched around... Can't find anything. Doesn't seem to be a thread yet in the mods section.

How do you use Quantum Struts? I've installed the mod, but I can't find them in any of the menus in VAB/SPH. Also, where's the strut gun and how do I use it?

Thanks guys. :)

They should be in the utility section. IIRC they look like the RCS thrusters that only have one direction.

To enable/disable them, either move them in an action group or right-click on them. I do highly recommend disabling them during ascent unless they're already holding onto some pieces, they tend to behave weirdly when not "hitting" something.

Hello everyone. I have the same issue:

KSP Version: 0.19.1.54 (steam)

Quantum Strut Version: 2.0.2

Via steam, I uninstalled KSP, deleted the install folder and then reinstalled it from scratch. Unfortunately, copying the parts and plugin directories still has no apparent affect. None of the quantum strut parts are available in the utility section. I know I'm installing the plugin correctly, because other plugins (MechJeb, Kosmos, etc) show up as expected.

Can anybody verify that this really is a problem with the most current version of both KSP and QS and not just imagining it?

Did you search for the Quantum string in the parts folder of your KSP?

If you have them - you have to look harder in the utility menu, but they use the models of other parts, so it took me a few tries to notice them too(I have about 60 parts in each section).

The Quantum Strut and Strut Gun use the RCS Directional thruster(the one with just one thrust direction), the Quantum Core looks like a SAS module.

I confirmed that the QS plugin was being loaded by consulting the output_log file. It showed up there without an error message, so I assumed all is well.

I repeated my fresh install procedure and setup everything again. This time it worked. I didn't install all the same plugins, and I didn't do so in the same order, but other than that I can't think of what I might have done differently. Anyway, this time it did work. I'm positive that the QS parts were not there previously, because I had looked at the ingame description of every single one.

Thanks anyway for the reply! Appreciated.

Note there's a Quantum Parts Kit or something mod that gives the Quantum parts new models and textures, so they don't look identical to other stock parts. It makes them easier to spot, for sure.
