Mounting tanks around a tank is SOOOO FRUSTRATING!

I'm finding it super super frustrating to mount the orange tanks to the middle orange tank. I've literally spent 2 hours trying to get the things to attach - finally quit the game in frustration.

Anyone got some tips on how to accomplish it? For what it's worth, I tried following the guide in the How to forum but to no avail.

It can be pretty fussy.

Normally if you attach the tank to something else before trying to radial mount it it helps, trying to radial mount a tank fresh from the pallet often doesn't work.

If it is still not working then you probably have something else on your rocket that is getting in the way, this can be pretty tricky to spot if you are using symmetry.

Try using the debug menu (alt f12) to tussle part clipping. It's a known bug that sometimes the van thinks things are clipping even when they're not, especially when you're using radially attached stuff.

You could try under a normal rocket engine, or onto the direct side of another tank.

Place it on a normal node, then pick it up and radially mount. It's a bug with collision meshes and such I think.

Literally just whack it anywhere - attach it to the side of the rocket you're trying to attach it to, and then you're golden!

I find the camera control in the VAB even more frustrating...

I nearly quit because of this exact same problem. But like stated above, just place the tank anywhere it will fit and then it will fit on those decouplers perfectly.

get one to attach. click the 4 time semitry select you piece and place it back. also using the parts clipping works like mentioned above

I found that the easiest way is to first use one decoupler, add tank and then small tank and engine, struts on it. then remove the entire booster and add the needed number. this makes it easier to adjust height.
