I THOUGHT I did...I had JUST downloaded v2.1 on 9/02/13...But I just looked and I guess I need to get and try v2.21 just uploaded TODAY...lol

Thats what I mean about it would be great to have a manager that automatically updates mods...Most mod developers are just TOO good at staying on top of bugs and new features...Updates just come too fast sometimes...NOT that I'm complaining!!...lol

I've tested the

"[0.20.2] Spherical Oxygen Tanks for Ioncross Crew Support Plugin",

"[0.20.0] Spherical Kethane Tanks v1.1",

"[0.20.0] Spherical Fuel Tanks Texture Pack (Smooth Textures) v1.6",

"[0.20.0] Spherical Fuel Tanks v1.6"

and all parts show up without any problem.

The Problems starts with

"Spherical Fuel Tanks v2.21"

But its not a problem of KSPMA. if you have a look at the folderstructure you'll see that the parts are organized in a "strange" way.

And the part.cfg files (the only files i parse, besides .craft) have names like TAL_Large_HalfSpherical_Tank_Metal.cfg.

i think about a solutionwhere i just look for *.cfg files ...

Damn, life would be much easier when modders would pack there mod the right (Squad) way ...

EDIT: All related to the Part Tab.

What's new:

  • Show ALL the archive types (.zip, .7z and .rar) in "add mod" folder dialog. -> Thanks to "Stone Blue"
  • "Multible text dialogs on doubleclick on a part.cfg" bug fixed. -> Thanks to "Stone Blue"
  • "Shows wrong part.cfg on doubleclick" bug fixed.
  • VAB and SPH add to destination dropdown in "Destination Selection" dialog.
  • Threading Bug in Parts Tab fixed.
  • Title of Parts are shown now not the name (Title & Name added as sub nodes to the part node)
  • Rearrange of subnodes on part tab.

@Stone Blue:

Could you check, if you still have the "Object reference not set ..." during part scanning, please?

I JUST installed Tals Tanks pack with 1.3.5, and it SEEMS to be working...I only tried a couple of the tanks so far...

I DO have a few other plugins that do not seem to be working correctly, but I have to investigate that further.

And, no, I no longer have the exception on the Parts tab. It seems to be working now. :)

Although, (and I didnt mention it before, since I thought you mentioned you were still working on it..??), in the Craft tab, all of the first dozen or so ships show red, (which is correct in my case), but then most of the other ships I have that should be showing missing parts because of missing plugins, are NOT....They are all showing as black...???

I DID have the mods all installed when I first started using 1.3.4...Then removed and readded them in various stages....I now have basically no parts plugins installed (just Tals Tanks)...So most of my craft should fail validation....Could the reason they are NOT, be because of some kind of carry over in a KSPMA cfg, or log file or something, that is not being overwritten properly?

OR, are you still working on the Craft tab altogether?..lol

AND, I apologize, (as I wipe the egg from my face), as I guess I should have played with KSPMA much more before posting that long list of stuff, as it seems most of those were already functioning, or addressed in 1.3.4...lol

even then he could use part.cfg as name for the .cfg files in his part folders ....

Except each of those folders contains 6 separate cfgs which represent the tanks for that particular resource. In order to name each one exactly "part.cfg" and still have the setup work in the way I wanted I would have had to place each one in it's own separate (further) subfolder.

Damn, life would be much easier when modders would pack there mod the right (Squad) way ...

Had I packed my mod in "the right (Squad) way" it would take up close to 200mb on disk rather than the current 14.3mb. My way uses 7 model files and 20 texture files and adds 150 tanks for that small memory footprint. The way that I organized the file structure is admittedly different than you may be used to, but each asset type is grouped together and easily found (and shared). By using a common naming scheme for parts that go together, it is easier to locate particular ones. Objectively, I think my way is better.

I think you missed my "EDIT" on the that post :)

Anyway, i wasn't aware of the fact that you add 150 Parts with this "strange" :) way and didnt remember that there where more then one .cfg in a folder.

I have to say that's a briliant way to organize the parts!

Its just that i have to overwork my algorithms again ;)

So i apologize for any offense :D

I was actually coming back to edit my post as well, I meant it to be explanatory and upon re-reading it has a very defensive tone. I apologize for that.

On a side note, my initial reason for checking out the thread was because my pack adds SO MANY parts that I was looking to see if your tool allowed people to pick and choose what parts out of a mod would be installed. It would be ideal for people who didn't need the specialized fuels or all the different sizes of tanks.

It would be ideal for people who didn't need the specialized fuels or all the different sizes of tanks.

OR the empty ones... ;) ...Though those ones are the ones I AM currently using...lol

Also, I have to say that I have noticed that Talisar in not the only one to group multiple .cfg's for similar parts into the same folder. Which ALSO means they have unique naming, instead of the accepted "part.cfg"...There's actually a few other mods that do it too.. I guess what sets off MY OCD, is when someone adds a couple, obviously, unnecessary folder levels to their structure, for what ever reason... :(

But then, I'm not even CLOSE to being a coder, so maybe its just something over my head on why it's done that way..??

hmm i have noticed that the part tab dont update when you update the craft tab so changes wont be recognized untill you manually update the part tab.

This will be fixed in the next version.

The folder structure doesnt metter for my algorythem, but the unique names are a problem.

But this will also be fixed in the next version.

Yeah, the craft tab doesnt seem to be updating properly even after refreshing the Parts tab...

And actually, I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but I notice the Craft are listed alphabetically....The only ones that properly show in red for me are ONLY those that start with numeric and letter "A", UP TO, "Ari"...everything from there on is not correctly showing parts issues. It shows the first 14 craft properly...After that, they are all black, even though most should be failing.

EDIT: Also, its ONLY stock, Squad parts, and parts from the CORE mod, that are showing as missing for those first 14 craft.....Though there are more craft after that, that SHOULD be showing those same Squad AND CORE parts missing... ??

Thanks for the update.

A new request: A search functionality for the Parts. If possible, not only displaying matches, but highlighting them. At least i would prefer that :D

edit: Tihihi, new page again

@cy-one:
