[Theoretical solution]How to escape Eve

Recommended Posts

Using Hyperedit and cheating fuel I was able to determine how much Dv is needed to ascent from sea level to low orbit on Eve.

12400 m/s²

I'm assuming RatoZumbi speaks little English, hence the words determinate (cross between determine and terminate) and accent (someone's Idiolect)(ascent), and the fact that he's from São Paulo - Brazil...

(Be a little less harsh Ben) :)

Whilst the dV for Low Eve Orbit has already been calculated countless times, I'm sure, it doesn't hurt for him to put this here, as newer players might not know this.

He just needs a better choice of words for the title, such as Delta-V for Low Eve Orbit from surface.

It looks like you went straight up until your apoapsis was 100 km, RatoZumbi. That's a rather inefficient trajectory, look for some tutorials about making a gravity turn. On Eve you want to start it higher than on Kerbin, because of the thicker atmosphere, maybe around 25-30 km. With a good trajectory and a design that has enough thrust to stay close to terminal velocity, the delta-V for Eve ascent ranges from around 8000 m/s to about 10000 m/s depending whether you land on the highest mountains (altitude 6400 m above sea level) or at sea level.

With a TWR of only 1.5 you're wasting a lot of fuel there. Boost the TWR and fiddle with the ascent profile and you can knock a thousand m/s off that, possibly two.

Last time I fiddled with working it out the smallest value I was able to achieve (from 50m above sea level) was 10,109m/s. That was in a previous version of the game so it may have changed slightly but I don't believe 12,400m/s is a minimum with your low TWR.
