Hawkinator's almost-multiplayer pass along the save file challenge thingy.

Recommended Posts

I think if someone doesn't quite complete the challenge but put a lot of effort into it they get to challenge the next person to fix it like with the mun lander refueling mission. Out of curiosity, how high were you flying it?

OK, that sounds good, and I was flying at around 19-ish km., except for the two times when I tried/accidentally tried to go higher, which resulted in asymmetrical flameouts and flat spins and a significant amount of lost altitude while trying to recover from flat spins.

Challenge partial completion.

The plane is to the west of KSC, on the other side of the mountain range.

The Dionysus is none the less a good plane, so I think a good challenge would be to land a refueling plane to dock with the Dionysus's tail-mounted docking port and transfer it enough fuel to finish the journey to KSC.

Save File

[Edit] Oh, and you should probably end-flight the capsule that we went and recovered the crew from. (It's just an empty capsule sitting on the ground now, so we can definitely end-flight it. To be perfectly honest, my original intentions were that all landed capsules on Kerbin would be end-flighted and the next mission started.)

Challenge complete :) I partially refuelled Dionysus and returned it to KSC, as well as brought my plane back. I also docked again to prove it does dock :) Please, I advise you to take a loot at the album of images I have included.

This was a extremely hard challenge for me because I, one, cannot make airplanes, two, cannot fly airplanes, and three, cannot dock with airplanes. But, I did figure it out and my craft is very easy to fly and Is suited to dock in "most" situations with a small variable docking node position. Please note, it is a JR dock, not a normal.

I challenge the next person to put a small unmanned probe into orbit with at least 1500dV available and a NORMAL sized docking port that is easily docked with. Also, make sure it has some sort of power generation and a Communotron 88-88 on the probe.

I don't have google drive, so i just uploaded the save as a zip http://www./?m3ji2qcscsr3ehb

I challenge >insert name here< to use this http://pastebin.com/jKzXDJSN to fly to Bop or Pol and do an eva landing, then go to the other, then land there

Your not understand what we mean by a small challenge -.- Anyways, someone can make a challenge for themselves and take the save file, then we will get back on track!

Ok, good point, just get it on course for a Laythe (as in, still at Jool escape velocity) aerobrake then, extra credit for doing it all from out of it's SOI

I think its more fun having to rescue sranded kerbals or just regular space missions within kerbin, Mun and minmus. Also, having a mission not working well a.k.a out of fuel and having to dock and all (as in the first missions!), rather than going to the Jool system.

We have the Soyuz in a 200km orbit, but I needed to use 1/3 of the fuel intended for the transfer to get there. Therefore, I challenge someone to bring the primary node of Shiva Station to orbit (I believe 6 toggles lateral RCS and 7 toggles rotational RCS ports), and then (only) design a lifter to bring it an orange fuel tank and our three elite refueling kerbals from the Dionysus!

I've also taken the liberty of ending the abandoned refueler and the Delta Class "calculations assist module" flights, and moving the planes south of the tracking station. The part count of the Soyuz was through the roof, so it took me quite a while to get it out of atmo (also, staging groups were a little messed up :P).

See, its a lot of fun in the kerbin system, but eventually we do have to move out a bit. We can still do a lot close to home, but its fun to multitask larger missions as well :) TAKE OVER TEH SOLAR SYSTEM!

It just goes to show how much I want this thing to work out for everyone. I literally have been on the seat of my pants when it started heating up.

I'm not understanding your challenge though, in the picture, is that the main node? Does that need to be docked as well as bring up an orange fuel tank to refuel the station before going to the Joolian system?

No worries, man! The picture is the station node and its lifter, which should be at the launchpad. It does not need to be docked to anything just yet, but you are correct about my intent being to dock an orange tank to it and then using that to refuel the Soyuz. Looks like I forgot the link too: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B6828vVl_-ZoSEdqakVfajZjTTg&usp=sharing

My challenge was to send the Shiva Station into orbit, then JUST build a refuel tanker for the space station in orbit already. I have completed such tasks!

Alright, so I got the Shiva station module into orbit, sitting pretty 1km or so away from the Soyuz-117 interplanetary probe. You can easily dock with the station now with small bursts of RCS and I have set the station rotating North to South. As for the maker of the Delta Class Probe, this will be repurposed for another mission in the future. I absolutely love the design :)

So, behold, the Shiva Supplies Module. It will EASILY get into orbit, however beware of the slightly high part count, the first one or two thousand meters up will be a bit lag filled, but it will DEFINITELY decrease. Enjoy it!

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS, we recycle here at KSP, and all my lifter designs have the notable feature of being able to deorbit themselves. So, please kindly leave at least 50 units of fuel in the lifting stage before decoupling so we can deorbit it and keep our skies clear and free of large debris.

Last notes, when you upload your files for the challenge, please, make sure you zip up the Ships folder, as well as the persistence and quicksave file and upload it either through your own personal google drive, or another site like sendspace or any other file upload site you know of.

Challenge: I challenge the next person to get the supplies module into orbit and setup a rendezvous with the Shiva station within 2km. Once in close, stop. Quicksave. Switch over to the Delta Class Probe and setup a 100km ENCOUNTER orbit with Minmus. DO NOT go to Minmus, just leave the encounter as it is and that is it for now.

Download the craft file.
