Hello!, future pizza delivery kerbals. We are hiring!!

We have a pizza order waiting to be delivered to that airfield situated in a island across the ocean.airfield on the island a few km east of KPC (Kerbal Pizza Center))

As pizza delivery kerbals, you have the option design you own air transport!

RULES:

-----The real challenge

-You must take off from the KPC, deliver the pizza to the island airfield by landing on the runway and decoupling a Rockomax Brand Adapter 02, and back to KPC, landing on the runway.

-There is not enough credit for mechJeb, so manage without it!

-Mods are allowed but as always in a different scoreboard.

-----Alternative challenge

-Jettison the pizza load (a Rockomax Brand Adapter 02) that needs to land safely, and back to KPC where you need to land.

Required

Screens of takeoff, landing and decoupling the Rockomax Brand Adapter 02, and landing.

In case you jettison the load, screenshots of takeoff, jettison, and landing.

The fastest delivery kerbal gets the job!!

I think it be required we drop off a structural fuelsolodge(the deleviery) that must land without damage. It would make more sence and give an extra challenge.

Are we alowed to use other mods for parts. No cheat-parts or autopilots. Is there also a part for boats in case the plane can't carry the pizza

Is this space plane or rocket exclusive? I think those should be two different classes. And a fuelsolodge is a bit large for a pizza, how about the round battery?

Here is my entry: The pizza pop. The pizza is located in the box on the underside of the plane. The box filled with pizza was decoupled at the other airfield. Here are some pictures http://imgur.com/a/UnLxW. My time was 7.32. Hope for the best.

My little plane couldn't carry the large pizza box so the lads over at the dirt runway only got a small one. You may notice it's not all stock It's normally only twin engine but I had to stick two more on for this.

I am really bad with planes, I've never done more than spin out the stock planes and build some ion gliders. So my plane design cribbed pretty heavily from the Aeris 3A. I knew I couldn't land a plane to save my life, so I made a little addition that, ended up saving a lot of time. Rather than lining myself up with the runway and braking, I just coast over the runway and deploy some parachutes. At under 60 m/s, they shouldn't tear anything off, and they'll instantly kill all speed, leaving the plane to float to the runway.

My run wasted about ten seconds taking screenshots at the KSC2, and came back with something like 60% fuel, so emptying out some of that fuel for weight reasons ahead of time could make it faster.

The wings tore off, but it could still drive around. Given that the challenge didn't specify a perfect landing, and that Jeb could walk away from it, I feel like it should count. Anyway, I'm trying the flight again with less fuel to see if a lighter plane does it much faster, I should have a proper landing shortly.

You already have a very light plane, i think, with a lot of engine power. Can you upload your craft file so i could give it a try with your plane?? If it's a new record it's on your name.

Yikes. I had just made a plane this morning that had great speed and was really easy to land, so I retrofitted it with the pizza box and tried it over and over again. The combination of trying to do it fast along with trying to take screenshots along the way just killed me. I finally made a successful delivery, then crashed on return.

The sad demise of the PizzaBoy1:

So I scrapped that design and started from scratch, with a little less engine and a lot less fuel, and suceeded on the first test run, although it was a little bit hairy at times. I present the flight of the PizzaBoy2. All stock. Total round trip: 7:22.

Coming in for a landing. Forgot to switch to chase mode, so I was wildly swinging the camera around to line it up:

But I managed to get it down. Fortunately as it turns out this thing likes to stay in the air, so I actually had to force the nose down to bring it in. You can also see PizzaBoy1's delivery in the background here:

I didn't have a lot of runway left by the time I rolled to a stop, but I managed to get her back into the air

Now where's that cursed runway? (I decided during the course of this mission that we really need waypoint indicators. It would make lining up on the runway SO much easier)

Landed! And just a one dollar tip. Cheapskates!

As for Ninety-Three,good entry, but yes, the plane must be able to takeoff again, im sure you can re-do it without breaking.

Asdier, here's the file for my parachute-based lander. Everything works off action groups.

I keep tweaking it and trying to make it faster, but it's got three engines on one fuel tank and two empty fuselages, so there's not much more speed to get out of it. Also, because I don't understand how planes work, some flights when I take it back to KSC1, it's going 240 m/s, sometimes 250. Does anyone know what might account for 10 m/s change? I know it's not fuel, but that's all I can control for.

I gave my ship another run, came in a little slower this time (5:48), but with all my bits still attached.

I think I'm going to try a six-engine confgiuration with splitters and see how that works out.
