the general Smalltalk Megathread

Warscribe

Recommended Posts

On another forum i'm in, we've got the smalltalk thread; it is basically there to prevent threadspamming the forum with 1-4 reply topics and also as a general discussion platform to avoid getting off topic discussions in other threads (a good example would be having the furry pro contra discussion here, instead of spamming their megathread)

Now, this has some rules, as it is not a general spam and flame thread; so the overall forum rules still apply; except for going off topic, as this thread has in fact no stable topic. You can discuss pretty much everything here. You can get to know other users here.

So be civil, respect one another and don't troll. (or the mods will rain down hell on us)

So, what's everybody been up to?

Sorry I never did any programming in Smalltalk. It was a bit before my time.

I have heard that it was a great language to learn object-oriented programming.

Or is this some other kind of smalltalk?

A bit rainy today, its hitting the wet season down here in Central Florida. Most afternoons it will rain, actually that's a little off, it won't just rain, it will "storm", for lack of a better term. Hail is uncommon, but not unheard of and 40-50 mph (65-80kmh) are common. I've heard that we are the lightning capitol of the world, I'm not sure if that is accurate, but some days it feels thay way.

Its really hot here in austria, even though it's only 19°C, all the rain has risen the humdity to an almost tropical leve here.

I have to laugh...And I don't mean to be mean about it, its just that what you describe is what we call a pleasant day. In fact there are some I know that would call it "freezing". Yes, we do have some soft people down here when it comes to weather below 22 c

i am generally a cold-affiliated person, but even some of my friends say the humidity makes it unnaturally hot. I'm totally fine with 22°, everything above is getting hot for me. i think 36-38° is some of the hottest we get here (and -20 was the lowest)

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
