Joe_Bender
Easy question concerning the shielded clamp-a-tron and the inline clamp-a-tron, the clamps with doors on them.Is it possible to connect them to my rocket from the clamps located within the doors themselves?Basically I want parts attached to both sides of the clamps with the doors already open before I go to launch. Is there a shortcut key that opens the doors within VAB? hoojiwana
I'm pretty sure you can still attach things to the docking port even while the shield is closed, and there is currently no way to see an animated part in its animated state. I'm not sure if everything will go well after loading it onto the launchpad however.
Sovek
no, it is not possible. , Either build in multiple goes, use a moving winch (wheels FTW) with KAS, or use the regular docking port.
RocketPilot573
Currently there is no way of toggling parts while in the VAB. However I believe it is a planned feature.
pvtnum11
The very recent 0.25 (at time of this writing) update allows you to open/close the ports in the VAB and SPH, but you can't attach items to them, still. So not only are they mere decoration (as it were), they're also teasing me.
Coga19000
Just don't use Shielded Clamp-O-Trons. Unless you're using a mod that runs on the lines of Ferram Aerospace or Deadly Reentry, the only thing the shielded version does more is add mass and drag.
