How big is your parts folder? how many parts do you have?

also how big can it get till you experience some sort of crashing?

Mines 1.34 GB and 716 parts, Anything higher than that and I'll get constant crashes, Make it past 800 parts and it'll crash every third launch or so

Too big and I'm going to do a fresh install and only load the parts I use from mods. For example I only used the big solar panels from the Kosmos Space Station Parts Pack mod so that will be the only part I load from it.

Wow I did same thing with the same mod, only for me it was the crew tunnel and the rcs tanks with radiator.

practically the same as well with the kosmos pack.

I also just took 4 parts from NovaPunch as well.

I was getting a load of crashes after putting in the new B9 pack in on top of everything else I run with. lyndonguitar I'm in the same boat as you, 800+ parts is bad news. 2nd or 3rd launch == crash.

Pruned a load of things out so now I'm down to 1.8GB 701 parts and things are (mostly) stable. I also tend to bring up the task manager and nuke everything else before KSPing.

You guys with 2GB+ parts, how much RAM do you have? I have 6GB corsair dominator.

I'm really hoping that the parts database improvement will bring some relief from the "out of memory" crashes that plagues those of us running with loads of mods.

I made a rather pondering post the other day which was a total tumbleweed, but I was interested in the fact that it NEVER crashes on the first launch regardless of how many parts you pack in and what you launch. That kinda implies that KSP is not clearing up its memory, resetting persistence makes no difference so I think things are getting left over in memory from each launch and it eventually is bound to collapse. I hope that gets resolved soon, I just love having loads of shiny parts to choose from.
