Falcon 9R landing legs, payload fairing, etc

Some cool pictures found on Elon Musk's twitter, for anyone who hasn't seen these:

Landing leg, and what looks to be an aerodynamic fairing for when it's retracted http://t.co/H49TSS2CYl

Payload fairing in an enormous vacuum chamber, closed http://t.co/BLOTThWFvw and open http://t.co/2zkLi4ON0s

Does the shape of the leg fairing remind anyone of an elongated Star Trek logo?

Probably just an instrumentation rig for the separation tests they're doing (or did). Guessing those might be feelers at the top to measure how centered the fairing is when closed.

That's a nice leg. :) Carbon fiber? I may have to make a twitter account to follow the guy, haven't seen those on fb.

Rune. News are always too slow to come out for my taste ^^'
