Has anyone ever tried to use a tile based space station? if so what did you do with it, how big was it, and do you plan to keep adding tiles to it? I was thinking about this today and decided I would give it a go, I've already designed a tile to use and construction will most likely begin later today after work. What do you guys think?

Oh, now I see what you mean! Well...

The cube was shot into orbit in one piece, yes. And no hyperedit (whatever that is, although I think I can guess). It's not that heavy, actually.

Yes like that, it's what im actually about to start on right now, if anyone has any advise i'd be glad to hear it.

Well I finally finished with the design and the first tile has been set, here's a picture if anyone's interested.

Update: I having trouble getting them into a good intercept if anyone has any advise on how to do this manually i'd love to hear it.

I can remember a station like that from Halo called the Cradle, and it was used to refit and repair many large ships at once (Like a KSP space station), but it was a kilometer long Would KSP even allow something that big, or would it just lag itself to pieces

It's part count that kills KSP rather than size, which is why I've never really tried making much out of panels.

Yep! There's actually a bunch of stuff on the inside.

Batteries, Reactors, the "ducktape" of KSP (i.e. struts), you name it. Just zoom in while building.
