An Idea

Has anyone ever tried to use a tile based space station? if so what did you do with it, how big was it, and do you plan to keep adding tiles to it? I was thinking about this today and decided I would give it a go, I've already designed a tile to use and construction will most likely begin later today after work. What do you guys think?

Edit: Here is an Example

Can't really see where this is tile based. Looks like it was launched as one part (if it wasn't hyper-edited).

Oh, now I see what you mean! Well...

The cube was shot into orbit in one piece, yes. And no hyperedit (whatever that is, although I think I can guess). It's not that heavy, actually.

I think he means this but with docking ports:

Thought about it. Then I gave up cause I thought the docking ports were too buggy for that. Now I think it's possible.

Yes like that, it's what im actually about to start on right now, if anyone has any advise i'd be glad to hear it.

Update: I having trouble getting them into a good intercept if anyone has any advise on how to do this manually i'd love to hear it.

Nice job on the lighting on that CUBE. Can you place things on the inside like batteries?

Yep! There's actually a bunch of stuff on the inside.

Batteries, Reactors, the "ducktape" of KSP (i.e. struts), you name it. Just zoom in while building.
