Every Spaceport should have one of these, does yours?

I'm currently perfecting a VTOL that looks like the brainchild of being smacked in the head too many times... So far, it is easier to control with the engines cut. Whenever I try to add winglets, it just goes off course and kills Jeb, again... :P

In my experience a perfectly stable VTOL can become an uncontrollable mess through the addition of wings/and or control surfaces. If you're making a pure VTOL you're better off without them! :)

PS If you wanna post a pic I can try and do a diagnosis...

Thanks Cupcake! I just got Imgur about 5 minutes ago and I'm just taking some screenshots of it now, I'll post them on here when I've finished taking the screenshots! :D

Sweet, if you can include one from the SPH showing the mass/thrust indicators that'll be good... :)

There! I think maybe RCS is what it needs to help with control...

That's a pretty funky looking ship you got there! I'm afraid it's got a few issues that'll need to be looked at before it flies well.

1) The fuel tank layout looks pretty dicey, you've got a big 160lt tank on the back and a little 80lt one on the front, I assume they're feeding fuel to the engines? Or are they for balance?

2) I think it might be a little overpowered! Four engines puts out a heck of a lot of thrust, you might be better off building a far larger craft if you still want to stick to a 4 engine design. You'll also want to strut the engines to the main chasis so you don't get too much warping.

3) I couldn't see any reaction wheels, are they in there somewhere? If you've got enough torque you won't need RCS.

4) There isn't really any benefit of using angled engines in VTOL designs, they might be making the craft more unstable.

Hope this helps, I can have a look at the craft file too if you like. :)

Good luck!

Ok then thanks! I was doing a little troubleshooting of my own, and found that, it only needs the thrust at around 1/3 to fly, any higher than that and it goes out of control and crashes. Also, where would you recommend me putting the craft file for you to look at, email? Mediafire? Any other service?

Mediafire`s fine, if you'd rather send it via email let me know and I'll PM you an address... :)

Ok emails probably the best option because I don't really want other people to somehow find this craft like mediafire would allow. Also I just watched your Milk run to Minmus video and I was wondering, how did you get the internals for the Mk2 Cockpit?

It's a fantastic bit of work by Sam Hall, hats off to him. I'll PM you now...
