And a third nub question today

Recommended Posts

I totally stole the idea for a 4 docking port connection between two station parts. After a thousand tries I finally got them together right so all the ports actually docked. It's a beautiful thing, except now I can't get them apart again. So, if some nublette wanted to break apart said space station if he forgot, say the power core, how would one go about doing that. In theory, cause I totally wouldn't do something so colossally mindless as that. it shows a complete lack of planning.

I've tried to undock each port, but they just reconnect when I get to the other side

Next time create an action group to undock... Sometimes you can get the torque of your craft to pry against the half undocked set. Click to undock two on one side and steer it a tad to keep those apart and quickly undock the other two.

If you set a port to undock, it won't immediately re-grab the other port; you should be able to do it manually if you have no other option. Figuring out which ports to click on can be tricky; this I know from experience. Just undock all four ports and use RCS thrust to back away.

And setup an action group to do the job next time you're at the VAB.

Thanks. I worked all afternoon to get the docking down perfectly. All four ports locked. I know how to do the docking manuvers now and can replicate it quickly. I have about 4 practice stations stuck together in orbit right now. I'll just end flight and setup the action groups. Thank you for the advice
