Its fairly simple too get really far out and see an even smaller Kerbin; just take any Minmus or Mun rocket, make a burn out of Kerbin's SOI at dawn or dusk, and just keep burning. A Mun rocket will probably have enough d/v to get you pretty far away from Kerbin, and all you have to do is constantly look at the planet while timewarping away. A telescope mod can help even more for this
