MDBenson
Any chance these 'low res' packs will be done in 0.20+ file system when released?Laz's working on that and other optimization.Lovin the 'Moonraker' nosecone, as Ive taken to calling it =PIt's not from Moonraker it's from You Only Live Twice Also curious if the built-in MechJeb feature is MJ1 or MJ2?The current version uses 1.9.8 (and you need it installed).Laz is working on a new update to move it to 2.0.8. FWIW You can run 1.9.8 and 2.0.8 together on the same craft, just don't activate BOTH at the same time or they fight
KhaosCorp
Was it really? Guess its been to long since I seen any Bond movie...I will rectify that shortly. drat...the 'You Only Live Twice' nosecone don't sound so nice! Hope I can still run this without any MJ till Laz puts MJ2 in it.....Im using the DR fix plugin, and it does NOT play nice with anything that's MuMechLib basedEDIT: Well, guess I wont have the above issue, cant load more than a few parts from this pack without crashing as is...hope the 'low res' version fixes that.....ksp really needs 64bit version.... shadowsutekh
I know I can do that. I do when I need to. I'm not asking for it, I'm asking if it's feasible and if I can help. Ultimately, a software programmer at SpaceX already has this worked out and it'll be implemented on their real rockets eeventually. Too many people here are anti-automation when in reality all modern rockets are automated. Automation is not a cheat, it's a way to use computer assistance to get more done and not spend time fluttering over basic crap the space industry got over in the 1960s. If I have to write the automation myself then so be it, I'm not going to sit here and whine until someone impliments it. All I need to know is *how* to impliment it and I can try to do it.At the end of the day automated systems are optional. You might not want everything like that but some of us do.This isn't the time or the place for automate vs manual arguments. That said I'm excited for low-rez! KhaosCorp
Looks like the memory footprint on the 3.75m pack went from 800ish to around 200-250, nice reduction indeed! These are legacy install though?
LazarusLuan
These are 20.2 updates with support for MechJeb 2 as well as legacy support for MechJeb 1.9.

Arran
Why are the parts still placed in the legacy location?Aye, struck me as weird as well, nearly all new mods are released with the new filestructure..
Fonso
Why on earth are these 700+ and 800+ MB when the huge KWRocketry is only 400+? Every one should take around 100MB maximum!
Kerbal01
I guess he's still working on a low-res pack.
Nibb31
I'm not seeing any difference with the first pack. It's still in the legacy folders. The textures are still 12 or 16Mb each. The Upperstage landing legs still don't attach. Many of the parts are still redundant.I've remade the pack for my personal use, by hacking cfgs to make them use GameData. This allows you to have 4 cfgs instead of 4 copies of the same part in RAM. I've also hacked some of the mbm textures to make them 512x512 png instead of 2048x2048mbm. This reduces them from 12Mb to 3Kb. I wasn't able to redo all the parts though, because hacking them this way is hard. It's a shame that the author isn't updating this pack properly, because the pack itself is really great. MDBenson
I'm guessing this is the version that adds MechJeb 2.0.x functionality to the stages? He said he was working on that. Shame there's still no optimised textures though. Even if you halved them to 1024x1024 and PNG'd them they'd still look okay and not take up anywhere like the RAM the current ones do. It's stopping me using them for the most part, sadly.

Fonso
Thank you for your comment man, but since it's a modification, I thought it would be OK, as in other mods
Nibb31
No, I won't distribute my modded version... unless Lazarus wants it of course. It's not only cfg edits, but also includes some messy hex editor edits to get it work with pngs instead of mbms.
