How to control rovers dropped from main ship

hi all, probably a silly question with an easy answer but i jstu cant seem to work it out.

i have a ship, off that ship are 4 habitat pods which i plan on landing on mun. underneath each habitat pod i have a small rover, just your basic 4 wheels, control pod, batteries and solar panels the problem is when i sit it on the launch pad and click de-couple i cant control the rover, i have tried clicking on the control module and selecting 'control from here' and then de-coupling but nothing seems to work, im still in control of my main ship

when the rover is attached to the ship everything works splendid, wheels lights solar panels etc so i know it works.

The rover should count as a seperate vehicle as soon as you decouple it; you should just be able to use the [ and ] keys to cycle through until you've got the rover selected.
