"intake air" storage tanks

I would like to make a tank or tanks specifically for the storage of intake air so I may make functional jets on planets such as Duna. Can this be done? would a jet getting its intake air from a tank even work on Duna? and how much intake air would be optimal for a tank?

It should be possible, but as thrust is speed dependant it may be a bit funky in space.

IntakeAir weighs the same as LiquidFuel (and as oxisider) and is consumed in a 16:1 ratio IntakeAir:Liquidfuel. IntakeAir tanks 16x the size of the LiquidFuel ones would be the optimal size.

You still end up with an 800+ ISP engine half the weight of the LV-N. The IntakeAir tanks would only be 15-30 tons so no heavier than existing fuel tanks.

p.s. Just checked the config file, the ratio is actually 15:1, not 16:1.

Is this talking a cheat method here or are you talking about a realistic worthwhile engine setup (if not realistic then "fair").
