Quantum Struts question

I have a kethane drill landed on the Mun that has a 8000 Kethane tank filled, I have landed another ship next to it equipped with enough empty Kethane tanks to hold 16000 Kethane. I have a quantum strut core on the lander w/the empty kethane tanks but when i go to put a strut between the two ships the game will not allow me to strut them together. Do I need a quantum strut core on both ships to make this work? Or am I just doing something wrong here?

Here's your problem: Quantum struts are for generating struts that connect two parts together, usually two ships that have docked. What you want is the Quantum Fuel Transfer node, which comes as a separate download.
