I have nothing to contribute to this discussion. I'd just like to say that this:

No, you're right. Ten pages of planes is clearly better than me posting one simple little fact about M-theory. :D

was the best thing I've read all day.

Of course you would know chobit :D

Unfortunately, I don't know that much about Japanese planes during WW2 compared to the other nations. Would you care to enlighten me as to some of the more obscure and interesting ones?

Woah. I try to take a day off of moderating to handle some unfinished business, and this thread explodes to life with everything from string theory to vintage aircraft.

4th dimension being time was theorized by Albert Einstein, if I am not mistaken the reasons for this related to a case of special relativity.

5th dimension is an amazing hairband from the 1980s, love that sound.

Also do note that Snoopy was not stock. The stock Sopwith Camel could not catch the Fokker triplane, so the Canadian pilot flying Snoopy had his plane specifically modified to give him the tactical advantage for that battle. At the same time, the first time Baron Von Richtoffen got shot down he took a bit of a head wound, which in his second encounter with Snoopy had affected him to a point where he made a rookie mistake.

And the Spitfire would explode if you blew it up. Your point is?

You could destroy the Resien/Zero if you took it into a fast dive, useful to know if your in a dogfight with it as it would otherwise defeat you with it manoeuvrability.

Wrong. It was the Corsair that earned the nickname "Whispering Death" among the Japanese. Also, the Mosquito was the British night fighter. America's night fighter was the Black Widow.

The Beaufighter was a night fighter with the first few marks. It became then a ground attack and anti-shipping aircraft. In that role it was used by both the Australians and Americans against Japanese shipping. The Corsair was called the "Whistling Death" not "Whispering Death"

Edit: Don't ask Rage097
