Sathurn
Why I hate mods1. Modders come, modders go. A modders time is his own, which means I can't even yell "fix this mod." Although some do.2. Mods break each other.3. Updates break mods, see 1.4. Mods are the devils temptress of the software games.5, And some time a mod is so great you come to depend on it, then the dev go an break it. and we have problem 1 all over again.Despite this, I keep downloading them though. To the modder out there, I don't hate you, just your broken mods, SO FIX EM Please note, BB's do sarcasm very badly, so if it not obvious this post is sarcasm. NASAFanboy
I hate mods on how because you can't update them just because the modded says so and its his/her "intellectual" property and you cannot re-distribute or remake them. It's get way worse if you come to depend on that mod.I personally believe all mods should be open-sourced if it is no progress is made to patch it in up to three months after a update. Because that is just ridiculous, an horrendous abuse of copyright.
Fel
No, I don't think this is "sarcastic"... I think you are demanding modders to make their time your own.Honestly, it isn't that hard to fix the mods; and with source code the only real change you're looking at is fixing the old "fake part module" (and removing statics unless needed). *I mean, 0.20 just released; And NASA, YOU can fix the mod for yourself... there is little need to "redistribute it"... at best, just explain how to fix it to others so no one is really violating copyright.Because that is just ridiculous, an horrendous abuse of copyright. No, you're just spoiled. Someone's work is their own work. Said person slaved over the work, not you... you have little right to just steal their work rather than recreate it from scratch... and I abhor modders who create "derivative works" that make minor changes, but then repackage the whole thing in their "I AM AWESOME" mod (full of stolen works). More like using without authorization.
Diggydug
This all sounds like a list of personal problems. Don't use mods then, and if you do use mods, don't update your game until the mods are compatible with the most recent version.

Pirate. *******.Call it what you want, but I have had work stolen from me. I've even had a FREE work be packaged and sold by a bastard who claimed he wrote said work himself (but after being forced into distributing for free by the moderators, revealed the source to be identical to my own)You are a THIEF, so get out. Frostiken
This update has rendered KSP almost unplayable for me So much for 'won't break saves' and 'backwards compatible'. Only about 10% of plugin-based mods are currently functional.Guess I'll give it a shot in about a month. Would've been nice if they revealed exactly how the new directory structure was going to work weeks ago so modders could have fixes in the pipeline. Granted they wouldn't be able to predict complete functionality, but it would've given them a jump start. Edited May 24, 2013 by Frostiken

It's to be expected.

That will be a favor for both of us.Have a nice day.But you are relevant, it's like saying, "Pirating isn't stealing, just unauthorized use of software. ;)" Fel sounds like they've had a pretty annoying experience dealing with someone who shared the same mindset, I think their response is a bit harsh but entirely understandable._______Nutt007's post is spot on. Modders owe people nothing. More often than not, they do it for free and on their own time, expecting them to HURRY UP or anything is disrespectful. You should know not to update until mods you use are also updated or know not to expect them to work perfectly in different versions of the game. Yes, because recovering a once-loved, deprecated, dead mod that hasn't worked in three versions so that everyone can use it again is exactly like you just described. We should have an abandonware clause simply so someone's work isn't going to waste. So if I used someone else's code or whatever, released it as a mod, someone like you would find it and flip out like I just killed your only son. So why not have an abandonware clause that puts strict limits on the redistribution and rely on people like you to flip out if they violate it? Aphox
It's a shame that innocent threads keep turning into instigated flamewars like this.It was plainly stated in the OP that it was sarcasm; a joke. Opening this volley of accusations and insults was completely unnecessary. Go stand in the corner and think about what you've done, all of you.
