Chute Repaint

Recommended Posts

I hope HarvesteR doesn't mind.

The stock yellow chutes look... I dunno, different. I wanted blue (my favo{u}rite colo{u}r) chutes, so I edited HarvesteR's .png tex to be blue. 8)

Paste the attached image into your KSP/Parts/parachute_single/textures folder. Then edit the config file to use the texture.

I hope you like it :)

EDIT: File size too big? :o:(

Hang on, I'm gonna see if I can tweak the file size limit for attachments.

BTW, I'm moving this thread to the Texturing section. ;)

Cheers

EDIT: Ok, I've increased the file size limit for attachments. You can try reuploading it now.

Cheers again!

  • 2 weeks later...

I wanted to have separate chutes with different colors just for the fun of it, so I copied the folder that had the files in it, and renamed them. Then I put this file in the new folder and changed the config file so it would read the texture (I changed the name of the texture). Now it always uses the blue chute regardless of the one I chose. What am I doing wrong?

I did notice that when I made a new command capsule and stuck it on the same ship as the default capsule, it always used the default texture.

I believe that if two seperate objects are told to use the same texture in the properties (even if in different folders with different files) the game will use the first one loaded.

I haven't actually tested it yet, it just popped into my head. Try renaming the texture in the properties and the files name to something different from the regular chutes.

you have to edit the part.cfg to use the texture.
