sluggish slow but the guns can take out a bomber in one shot

Yeah the beaufighter is a beast. shot down about 5 planes in around 4 mins with it.

Personally, I prefer the Pe-3bis. It's got slightly weaker weapons, but it's fast and maneuverable.

Turns out, I kick ass at flying the Il-2 sturmovik (ground attack, kind of like a stuka but with autocannons) aircraft. As long as I don't make a mistake I consistently top ground target kill count.

On topic: Does anyone have problems with taking off from carriers, when I do I can't get enough power and the plane heads to the water despite what the elevators are telling it.

Does anyone else find it odd that the Il-2 counts as a fighter as far as scoring goes, when it really should count among the stukas or slachtflugzeug?

Used as a twin engine fighter bomber at first, then it moved onto anti-grounds and shipping attacks in the pacific. Perhaps they call it a light bomber? It does have bombs

The reason it's classed as a bomber is because it originally was. It was conceived as a long-range heavy fighter, and the chassis was based on the old Beaufort bomber (to the point where the only noticeable difference is bigger guns and better engines.

Basically, it's a less fun version of the Soviet Pe-3, which was also based on a bomber, the Pe-2, and thus also classified as a bomber in the game, even though it technically is a heavy fighter.

Since I am to lazy (Yeah, I'm very lazy) to read this thread, what battles do people prefer? Historical or Arcade? I play Historical mostly because it is more rewarding.
