Alright, after two trial runs with threads of this type, I am pleased to present a thread designed for people to hold light conversations.

Be advised, although this thread will not be held to a set topic it also can only exist with a zero-tolerance policy regarding spam posts and rule-violations. It will be watched closely for instances of either type.

Per the standard Forum Rules

Please take particular note of section 2:

2. Messages

2.1 Definition of message

A message includes any and all means a user has available to communicate with other members. This includes but is not limited to forum posts and private messages, irc chat messages, avatars, signatures, usernames and general profile information.

2.2 Forbidden content

Messages which contain or link to the following are explicitly forbidden:

1. Piracy or discussion of piracy;
   
2. Discussions of a political, ideological or religious nature;
   
3. Adult content, such as nudity, sexually suggestive or explicit images, gore and drugs;
   
4. Harassment of other users or staff, this includes insulting, threatening, stalking, racism, sexism and impersonation as well as posting private conversations;
   
5. Vulgarity and profanity;
   
6. Conspiracy theories; and
   
7. Links to commercial initiatives.

2.3 Other forbidden messages

1. Messages that lack any substantial content, for example messages that contain only reaction images, simply a '+1' or jargon; and
   
2. Messages that derail a topic or 'trolling'.

2.4 Language, spelling and grammar

All messages must be sent in English unless otherwise indicated. The user should make an effort to use proper grammar and spelling, meaning that txt-speak, 1337-speak and other exclusionary jargons are prohibited.

Yes. Kind of like what we had been doing, having a conversation through forum posts instead of an IM chatroom or an IRC channel.

Serious stuff worthy of its own thread should get its own thread in the relevant section, while utter nonsense should not be on this forum unless it happens to fit a thread relevant to it.

The cat thing I'd actually allow, purely on the basis that we were talking about cats at the time making those images relevant to the conversation.

Now if someone randomly posted a cat gif in response to someone else raging because their laythe return mission encountered a game breaking glitch, that I would have to do something about.

Hmmph. I find that a thread where you can dump all of your nonsense away so that you can have a clear head when posting elsewhere is necessary. Like say that you cn't stoop thinking about cat .gif files, how do you clear that out of your mind? by dumping it into a designated thread. correct?
