The Kerion-Complete Rebuild! Orion MPCV and SLS Replica

[Kerbol Prime]

A replica of NASA's Orion MPCV atop the SLS launcher, property of BluPlanet Incorporated. (I think this should be in spacecraft exchange)

Flight Manual:-Action groups:

backspace: abort, abort, abort

0: toggle 1/2 gimbal

1: eject LES (during flight or after abort)

2: deploy parachutes

Preflight checks:

-Set throttle (as shown below)

-SAS activated

-double-tap 0

Launch

-Go up until 9000 meters (eject SRBs along the way)

-Gradually turn, should be about 45 degrees at 20000 meters

-Reach desired apoapsis (tested at 100 km)

-Fire up stage 2

-Warp until 50 seconds from apoapsis

-circularize

Orbital maneuvers

-The MPCV has plenty of RCS to dock

-It is able to reach munar orbit and return

Note: the term look-alike is used very lightly, since I was going for a design resembling that of the Orion but it didn't end very well...

Looks great! It's a shame that there aren't any stock circular panels, though. However, if you want your personal Orion to have them, and if you don't have anything against addon parts, I'd recommend taking a look at Lionhead Aerospace's circular panel part.

If I may make one suggestion it's to use another decoupler for the launch escape tower because this one remains on the nose of the main craft until you cut power.

Delta-v among the stages is well balanced I think.

I couldn't remember which action-# to press to lock gimbal, so I locked them on both first and second stage. Second stage needs gimbal, easy to enable, else operation went well.

Thanks for the feedback! I plan on releasing a new version this friday, with a more SLS-like launcher and improvements overall, namely more accuracy, etc.
