Djsnowboy267
Say for example, you have a spaceplane which is carrying a smaller spaceplane on it. Both cockpits are manned. When you drop the smaller one, how do you control it IMMEDIATELY, without have to switch vessels? I tried "control from here" but that hasn't helped. Is there any way I can do this or am I going to have to just manually switch every time?
Kegereneku
That's an interesting question, I would like to know too because I though doing "control from here" before decoupling would work as it do with docking.
Specialist290
If I recall correctly, control automatically defaults to the craft with more mass.
corvus2606
it will always default to the vessel that has the parent part, but you can quick switch using the "[" or "]" keys
Djsnowboy267
I know that you can switch with those keys, but I want to be able to automatically start controlling the craft that I am releasing because it tends to slam into the parent craft within several seconds. Innuce
Funny, I have the opposite problem. When I dock two crafts together, the resulting combined craft I have no control over. My workaround is to escape out to the space center, then re-select the craft from the tracking station. After that, everything is fine.
zanzibar196
Switching vessels appears to be, currently the only way to control a secondary craft... Here's a video that shows you how:
CalculusWarrior
Maybe attach Sepatrons to the smaller craft so that it gets blasted a fair ways away from the parent and avoids smashing into it? I'm not sure what you're trying to do and if that will totally destroy it or not...
