How I hate the KISS-principle

In case it is not kown, KISS stands for "Keep It Simple, Stupid".

I tend to stage large operations, huge Vessels with incredible part-counts.

Well... they DO work... mostly. But without MechJeb and "just let it run, never mind a framerate of 2 fps" connecting two of these behemoths together would be impossible.

Right now, I am docking a refuelling vessel to a Jool-Mission that consists of a cruiser, six satellites, two tugs and two habitats.

Done by hand, I would be here next week and STILL not docked.

Hm... maybe I should make more missions but smaller... I just kind of like these big things....

(Not a problem! Just another lament... )

I have an obsession with putting relevant parts from every mod on most of my ships to cover all possible scenarios. Over-engineering to the highest degree. Does my command module need more batteries, aux tanks, communications and scientific scanners? Yes it does. 64 bit unity will be a godsend for me.

Why green text?

And that strategy must become troublesome when you need to go anywhere further away than the mun...

So do I. Every mission I send has backup panels, escape systems, launch abort systems, batteries to last Atleast one day, and so on. And science stuff, I even bring barometers on spacestations...

"But its a probe to find the temperature! We don't need a drill!"

"Shut up. This will have a drill."

I over engineer too.

Yes, you can never have to much solar panels, you need some static ones if you break the other and some RTG for nights, add some batteries.

Mods make this far worse, like the backup KAS winch.

No you can never have to much trust or fuel.
