Leave Sattelite allone without ending flight

Hey there,

i've got a little problem with my sattelite. After burning down and decouple the last engine stage i cant leave the sattelite alone in the orbit without ending the flight. how can i get back to the space-center WITHOUT ending the flight? can you help me please?

Well, hit ESC and click to return to KSC/VAB/SPH, without hitting end flight...

If end flight is grayed out, maybe you have your throttle up, press X to kill throttle and try again!

Just hit escape and click "Space Center." If it is grayed out, make sure you throttle down first.

the problem is: it IS greyed out and i DON'T have any engine to throttle up/down left...

Throttle down. That's the problem. Hit "X"

It does not matter if there is a engine or not, as long as the game says your applying throttle you can exit to the SC, just go ahead hit X even without an engine, should be able to exit it!
