Self recovering rover, 20ms stable, safe drive - fits four(stock)

Recommended Posts

Exactly! i was so in love with this thing after i built it and tried to break it in kerbin that i had to get it on the moon and test low grav. It rolls like ball when i do a 20ms turn. With gravity the sucker is impossible to flip without trying to, such as ebrakeing and turning with all four wheels. I'll be sending it to Duna shortly to replace my other rover that requires babying.

Already rolled my Science Tank, and luckily the only thing I lost was solar panels on one side. Which is why I'm building my next rovers low and wide just to prevent it alltogether.

Anyways, can we get some better lit pics to see more details?

This is what i learned from this experiment low and wide. the roll bars and feet were just so i didn't have to pay attention to low grav turns. I'm definitely no photographer, but ill give it a shot later on.

Have people stopped posting craft files or am I missing the point of the spacecraft exchange?

soon as i strip down some parts, and make an action group or two that keeps you from having to dick around manually with the feet I'll post (IE the back, or front legs need to be in recovery position, at the moment it requires right click shenanigans.).. Probably by the end of this week. I couldn't help it.. fell in love with the WIP :)

Beta Version, still working on the most basic strip down.

This is after landing from this jump without losing a part:

I think it's still to heavy, but you get the gist, it's weighing in at 65 parts still. Alpha had over a 100, so still working those parts down. still recovers from any accidental flip, and stable on the mun for turns up till 20m/s practically indestructible till after 25 m/s.

Very nice. Most of my rovers still flip on regular occasions when going above 30 m/s, only quick save helps me in that case. I'd be interested in seeing the craft file.
