Central Citrus: Mobile Command Rover

Recommended Posts

I was so psyched when I finished this, first time really going in on a rover design.

Craft file: http://www./view/4brco27j4ox64bb/Citrus_Mobile_HQ.craft

Space to pop the back hatches open, 1 to drop the research probe, and 2 for lights. enjoy.

seats eight in the back and two up front, with a research rover stored in the rear cargo bay.

Where is the craft file located, and where should I upload it to?

It should be located in your save folder, under your game name, and then in the SPH (if it was made in the space plane hanger) or VAB (if it was made in the Vehicle Assembly Building)

Then, upload it to mediafire. I don't think you need an account to do so, but it helps if you do as you can keep track of your files over time.

Thanks for all the feedback everybody, I updated the first post with the .craft file. Thanks for the hiddly help, ned.

That drop ship is sweet, I like how there's a corridor that stems from where the kerbal exits the pod. Good stuff.

*humongous tank*

Whoaly **** man, the rover lags my machine when I drive it around... I couldn't imagine that thing, it's massive!

here's the rocket truck for the dude who wanted it, I'll put it on the first page too: http://www./download/u6mhc2nzial42ew/Flying_Rocket_Truck.craft

thanks, everybody!

Am I the only one having trouble getting my krebals int the vehicle? Other than that, it's awesome!

You know I honestly had a hard time myself, when I swapped to the on-ground kerbals the HQ would start rolling and it'd be hard to get up. Does anyone know how to position my ladders or something like that to make it easier to board? I was having trouble on top of framerate issues so I just gave up with getting them on it. Honestly I'm not even sure if it works, like if you can get them into all of the seats.

Using the same type of Truck i just realized you can make so MANY MANY MANY more trucks, a Fuel Carrying truck,(Remove the seats in the back and replace with lots of Fuel then close off the back and leave a SMALL opening on the side for a pump to extract that liquid gold) An open back version of the truck with no rover for transporting loads of troops(Remove the rover part of the truck keep the end open so troops can enter through the rear with ladders), heck even a Missile launcher if you tried hard enough MRLS is a good example(make the rear of the truck point up SLIGHTLY and have it be hollow rectangle with room for LAZOR guided cruise missiles.)

I'm going to try to make a few of these myself, but I will likely fail and have the untimely demise of hundreds of Kerbals.

I know what you mean, man, when I was building it I couldn't stop building other things. it'd be awesome to see what people do with it, so if you make something post it here! ibzPV9ny0FVKEA.gif

What I do is take the inline fighter type cockpit (you know, the one with nodes front and rear). Put a round battery on either end, if you want it to be re-usable a few of the non folding panels (5 or so) should keep it charged. Then just stick 4 of the normal rover wheels on (the older brown ones, the grey ones grip becomes problematic for alot of vehicles on kerbin, likely including yours, they literally tear themselves apart when turning sometimes). Its a simple rover and only has 1 kerbal but that doesnt matter. Launch it from the SPH, drive off the runway and park next to it. Launch your new vehicle (ie your truck), then switch to the rover next to the runway and drive infront of the new vehicle, gradually slow down to a halt and you can act as a brake for the truck, enable the parking brake on the rover, get the kerbal out and run around to the truck. Sorted, it cant go anywhere. Works with astonishingly high masses.

That is amazing... Make sure you post a craft file without the rocket engine on the back :P
