Help! my browser is going crazy!

So i downloaded some emulators and some other stuff, and all of a sudden whenever i go onto Chrome or any other browser, i get a browser called "BASICSERVE"

instead. It's HORRIBLLY SLOW! But worst of all, its incomplete! I tried to download a fresh copy of Chrome, but i still get Basicserve! It is so incomplete, i can hardly get to the KSP forums because it says NO RESULTS!

I will try to download Pivot Stickfigure because it has its own browser, but i need you guys's suggestions to help!

so you probably got yourself a trojan or some other malware...

Just reinstalling chrome won't help, as it will continue to use that other thing under the hood (chrome on windows for the most part relies on IE to do its job, dirty little secret there, and if your IE DLLs got corrupted by something it will keep using those).

So get rid of the bad stuff, THEN reinstall Chrome.

Install FF and Avira AV.

It will take care of that hopefully.

Or Palemoon instad of FF.

Browser hijackers can be particularly nasty, requiring multiple scans from several different anti-malware and anti-virus utilities to clean them up. One of the ways they work is by installing code that changes your firewall settings and then disables it. If you cannot access your windows firewall, you know you have serious problems. I suggest you search for some help from an experienced tech. You need someone that can identify problems from a hijackthis analysis and also identify problems in the registry. I have cleaned hijackers before, but it took hours of research and restart after restart after restart...........

I agree with Malwarebytes. Best part about Malwarebytes is that, contrary to may other scanners, it is fully functional in 'safe mode'.
