Will the wings be separate to provide lift or will it be a single part?

If all goes according to plan, it will be composed of several parts... A command module, RCS fuel tanks and blocks for thrust, wings for lift during re-entry, etc. This is going to be my biggest project yet, and I hope to get started after the Intrepid V is finished.

If you could sqeeze an asas in there too it would be appreciated. Maybe in the nose. Also will the wings have separate control surfaces built in like nova\'s winglets?

Don\'t worry. Everything I didn\'t list before was included in 'etc.' ;) When it\'s finished, it will include everything you need to have a fully functioning spaceplane. And yes, the wings will have their own control surfaces, too.

One last thing. I\'m assuming it will be unpowered for reentry, any chance we could get a swappable linear aerospike engine for it? C7 had made one but it got lost in a file crash.

Can\'t wait for the Atlas V, but one thing, I don\'t know if it\'s just me, but the SLS was impossible to control. I couldn\'t get it into an orbit let alone to the moon, it always goes one way and I can\'t control it. Any thoughts?

i also had same problem with srs...but with rsc on you can manually control it...once in orbit its easy...

With the addition of a 1.25m to 1.00m interstage and 1.50m payload fairings, the Intrepid V can be configured like an Atlas V 400 series rocket as well.

will the payload fairings have a rounded nose cone too or are you only making the regular cone shaped nose?

Could you model an engine that has an srb attached to it so we could build an atlas v 411is without the balancing issues

While that would solve the stabilization issue, you wouldn\'t be able to jettison the SRB. I don\'t know about you, but the 411 configuration looks odd enough as it is... We don\'t need an SRB tagging along until MECO. I\'m working on a few solutions, but I won\'t let this issue push back the release date. I\'ll work to get it fixed in a later update. Until then, just use KSP\'s available symmetry options.

will the payload fairings have a rounded nose cone too or are you only making the regular cone shaped nose?

You will have both. Option A (as seen above) will make the Intrepid V look like an Atlas V 400 series rocket, and Option B (as seen on pages 1 & 11) will make it look like an Atlas V 500 series rocket.

Have you nailed down what spaceplane you are going to base the Aurora on?

And thank you for the enjoyment of flying your spacecraft!!!

Not yet. I\'m solely focused on finishing the Intrepid V right now. Once that\'s finished, I\'ll start worrying about Aurora...

Looking great...if ksp ever comes out with another planet like mars you will have to make the rover curiosity for the atlas V that would be great...

KSP will have to enable functional rolling wheels for that, rather than the goofy skid-nubs that we have now.

Hey everyone!

Version 1.3 has just been released! It includes everything you need to build an Intrepid V 400/500 Series rocket. The handling is pretty much the same as the Intrepid II. Just make sure to keep S.A.S. activated the entire time. If you find any problems, just let me know! I hope all of you enjoy the Intrepid V!
